It is true that there are many other incredible venues in Portugal that also deserve to be here, but if they are not listed, it is because we haven’t had the privilege of working there yet. Out of respect for you, we only review wedding venues we know and have experienced thoroughly.

1. Penha Longa Resort, Sintra

Located at the foothills of the Sintra Mountains, right in the heart of the Sintra/Cascais Natural Park, lies the Penha Longa Resort.

It is an immense property, full of lush vegetation and breathtaking landscapes. The 5-star hotel emerged from the restoration of a 14th-century monastery, full of history and with all the conditions for a memorable wedding party with all the refinement a luxury hotel has to offer.

2. Hotel Palácio, Estoril

The Hotel Palácio in Estoril is, without a doubt, the most iconic hotel on the entire Cascais coastline.

It is a place full of history that, since 1930, has hosted European royalty and even served as a base for spies during World War II. This was the inspiration for the James Bond movie “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”, which was partly filmed in this iconic hotel.

The Palácio de Seteais is the perfect setting for a highly romantic and intimate wedding. From the front courtyard, you can see the Moorish Castle and the Pena Palace, while inside, the rooms are decorated with authentic 18th-century frescoes and furniture.

The service is, as expected, simply flawless. The staff is as helpful and attentive as you can imagine. The gardens offer incredible settings for your entire event; for example, you can use the front courtyard for an outdoor civil or symbolic ceremony, and the cozy back gardens for the welcome cocktail. 4. Palácio da Rocha do Conde d’Óbidos (Portuguese Red Cross Palace), Lisbon

Also known as the Portuguese Red Cross Palace, this venue is located right in the heart of Lisbon, between the Santos neighborhood and Janelas Verdes. Since 2019, the Red Cross has established an exclusive partnership with Casa do Marquês, a premium catering reference in Portugal.

5. Quinta do Valle do Riacho, Alenquer

Among the all the weddings specialized venues in Alenquer (very near Lisbon) area, this one holds a special place in our hearts. Located near the Montejunto Mountain, a protected area with wonderful scenic beauty, it has always been linked to wine culture and is classified as a property of relevant architectural value. This late 17th-century manor house still features tile panels full of history!

It has a huge front courtyard where all activities related to the party can be held, a hall that seats around 250 people, and an old chapel that can be used as a preparation area or ceremony space. At the back, there is a pool with several extra charming gardens perfect for a private couple photoshoot.

6. Quinta do Pé da Serra, Colares – Sintra

Located in Pé da Serra, near Cabo da Roca, just before Colares, this is an incredible wedding venue. For many years, we have considered it one of the best wedding venues in the Greater Lisbon area.

The layout of the estate means the event usually takes place in three different locations on the property. At first, it might seem unusual, but it flows incredibly well. Because of its multiple indoor spaces, it is not only fantastic for a sunny day (where you can see the ocean from the terrace) but it is also an excellent and safe choice for rainy days, especially during winter.

7. Quinta da Bichinha, Alenquer

Located in Alenquer, very close to Lisbon (30 minute drive), this is one of the most requested wine estates for weddings and, in our opinion, one of the best in terms of value for money!

The estate, always perfectly maintained, features a huge hall—originally an old wine cellar—prepared for all kinds of events. Outside, there are various gardens, small rustic houses, and an incredible lake with wonderful photogenic qualities. The staff is always charming and extremely helpful!

This venue also have acomodation on site for a a limited number of guests, making it one of the best choices for destination weddings in Portugal.

8. O Forte – Guincho Secret Spot, Cascais

For those seeking the charm of the sea without having to deal directly with the sand and the heavy bureaucracy of public beaches, O Forte – Guincho Secret Spot is the perfect answer. Built over the old Crismina Fort (a 17th-century military fortification), this space was brilliantly redeveloped in 2020. It kept its original hexagonal floor plan but gained a highly modern, glass-enclosed touch.

The panoramic view is, without exaggeration, breathtaking. From the main hall and the outdoor lounge area (which was smartly built to shelter guests from the strong winds typical of the Guincho coast), you can see the Sintra Mountains, the Cabo da Roca lighthouse, and the vastness of the Atlantic.

Right at the mouth of the Tagus River, where the river ends and the ocean begins, lies this magnificent wedding venue. The absolute highlight is the breathtaking view over of Tagus River and the entire northern bank of Lisbon.
