Specializing in social events like weddings and corporate functions, this estate is a true treasure, classified as a property of relevant architectural value by the General Directorate of Tourism. Its history dates back to the late 17th century, and the manor house that hosts events still displays tile panels (azulejos) and other architectural elements from that era.

Upon Arrival

Arriving at Quinta do Valle do Riacho, with its very spacious parking area, we are greeted by a splendid corridor of cypress trees and an imposing gate leading to the manor house. Both elements are incredibly photogenic and immediately hint at the grandeur and elegance awaiting the couple and their guests inside.

Central Courtyard: Versatility and Charm

Crossing the main gate, we encounter a large courtyard that reveals itself as a versatile space. It is ideal for the reception cocktail, an outdoor dance floor, or even for meals under the stars on warm summer nights. The square layout of the buildings creates this immense central courtyard, which simultaneously provides a welcoming and majestic atmosphere.

Converted Chapel and Celebration Space

To the right, we find the old chapel, called Casa dos Arcos (House of Arches), now transformed into a ballroom. We have photographed weddings where the couple chose to use this hall as the ceremony location. Others used it as a dance floor, and many others as a preparation area for the couple—most frequently for the bride. This charming chapel can also be used as a Plan B on rainy days, adding an extra layer of flexibility to the venue.

The Main Hall

On the left side of the central courtyard, the kitchens and the banquet hall await.

With a capacity for more than 250 seated guests, it was originally a farming building and still preserves the original lagar (olive press), which is frequently used as a dance floor. The hall is spacious and comfortable, with walls revealing the original construction stone. At its center stands an imposing marble table that can be used as the head table. Behind this table is a huge fireplace which, on cooler days, is lit to provide not only warmth but also a sweet, cozy touch. Next to the press area, there is an adjacent room that houses the bar. This separation between the bar and the dance floor is fantastic! While easily accessible to those dancing, it remains somewhat secluded, creating a space where your guests can stay and chat.
