Sónia and Cristiano planned a truly special engagement (or pre-wedding) photoshoot session divided into two parts that perfectly reflect their essence. We began our afternoon in a serene field, very close to the bride’s parents’ home. The reason? The couple wanted to share the first photographs of this visual legacy with Napoleão and Safira, their two magnificent Lusitano horses.
Napoleão, Safira, and a Natural Connection
Strolling alongside two such imposing animals could have been a photographic challenge, but Napoleão and Safira proved to be incredibly gentle and cooperative. Our documentary approach allowed us to record the genuine bond and affection the couple has for their horses without forcing the moment. The natural elegance of the Lusitano breed gave the portraits a majestic fine art aesthetic, worthy of an editorial.

Golden Hour and the Sea Breeze at Porto Novo Beach
After saying goodbye to the horses, we changed scenery and headed toward the sea. The chosen destination was the beautiful Porto Novo Beach in Vimeiro (Torres Vedras). We arrived at the exact moment the golden hour began to paint the sky with warm tones. We let the couple enjoy their time together and walk along the shore, taking advantage of the incredible light and the maritime breeze to capture pure, romantic images full of movement.
A Classic Beetle to Close on a High Note
But Sónia and Cristiano’s surprises didn’t stop with the horses. To end this session in a memorable way, the couple brought along a vintage Volkswagen Beetle. We used this timeless classic as the backdrop for the final portraits of the day. The contrast between the car’s vintage lines and the beach sunset provided the final touch of magic to an absolutely perfect afternoon!
