Lenna & Alex, Engagement Photoshoot at Queluz National Palace, Sintra
ENGAGEMENT PHOTOSHOOT | SINTRA | MIXED STYLE
A few months before their unforgettable destination wedding in Cascais, Lenna and Alex traveled to Portugal to finalize the arrangements for the big day. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to have them here for their long-awaited pre-wedding session. The setting they chose couldn’t have been more sumptuous: the classical architecture and peerless beauty of the wonderful Queluz National Palace.

Summer Heat and Mastering Harsh Light
It was an afternoon marked by high temperatures and a high noon sun. Since the Palace closes its doors at 6 PM, we didn’t have the photographic luxury of waiting for the usual soft late-afternoon light (golden hour). Shooting under these “harsh light” conditions is a true technical test. However, we navigated the time constraints by turning the sun’s intensity into dramatic contrasts, vibrant colors, and elegant shadows that perfectly match our fine art approach.
Romance and Complicity in the Gardens
Even with the intense heat making itself felt, Lenna and Alex were fully committed. The session flowed at its own unique pace, consisting of slow strolls through the green labyrinths and conversations in the shadow of the Palace’s grandeur. The tremendous complicity between the two made our documentary work incredibly easy, resulting in a gallery that is pure, relaxed, authentic, and filled with romance before the “I do.”
