Some time ago, Ju and Rodrigo traded the hustle and bustle of Rio de Janeiro for the peace and beauty of Portugal’s West Region. To celebrate their union, they flew friends and family from across the ocean to the imposing Casa das Gaeiras in Óbidos. With its stunning late 17th-century architecture, this manor house was the perfect stage for our mixed style, where the rawness of documentary art meets the elegance of fine art.
A Majestic Manor House
Ju got ready in one of the property’s sumptuous rooms. The richness of the classical details and the organic light flooding the space offered us a blank canvas to create incredibly elegant images. As she prepared to head down for the ceremony, the interior architecture invited us for a quick pause in one of the halls, where we captured timeless portraits of the bride, always with a natural sense of flow.
Intimacy and Serenity
In another wing of the property, Rodrigo experienced the moments leading up to the “I do” in an extremely calm and intimate atmosphere. With his father’s dedicated help and the support of his friends, his preparation was marked by sincere smiles and quiet conversations. Our presence remained stealthy, documenting the groom’s serenity authentically and without interference.
Raw Emotions
Led by a long-time friend, the ceremony carried an overwhelming emotional weight. The moment Ju appeared on the horizon, Rodrigo could not contain his tears—a moment of pure vulnerability and love that we made sure to immortalize in their visual legacy. It was a genuine sharing of feelings, witnessed and felt by everyone who traveled thousands of miles to be there.
Through the Nooks of Casa das Gaeiras
Following the euphoria of the ceremony, we took advantage of the interlude for a brief session for two. We explored every corner and unique detail of Casa das Gaeiras. The deep connection between Ju and Rodrigo made everything easier: an incredibly organic and romantic fine art photo session that highlighted the century-old charm of the Óbidos region.
Champagne Tower and 9 Hours on the Dance Floor
By the time we reached the reception, the energy was already at its peak! The meal was served in a relaxed buffet format, true to Brazilian style, encouraging constant sharing and toasts. But the hallmark of this day was undoubtedly the party. It was pure madness! The dance floor opened around 6 PM, and when we finally left at 3 AM, it was still completely full. The couple didn’t leave the floor for a single second, radiating immense joy. To crown the night with a classic touch, the cake cutting was accompanied by a stunning champagne tower.
