Lenna (Swiss) and Alex (Brazilian), living in Switzerland, found in Portugal the perfect geographical compromise to gather family and friends who traveled from Brazil and Switzerland. They chose the elegance of the Onyria Quinta da Marinha Hotel, in Cascais, to celebrate this destination wedding. A day that proved that the luxury of a hotel wedding and documentary authenticity can (and should) go hand in hand.
Beauty Amidst the Chaos
Lenna’s preparation took place in one of the hotel’s suites and was proof that real life is always the most fascinating. With a slight delay setting in a vibrant chaos, and hair and makeup lovingly left in the hands of a guest friend, we documented the energy, anxiety, and pure beauty of moments that do not repeat. Our presence, as always, remained invisible, recording the truth of the moment.
Alex’s Tranquility
In absolute contrast, Alex’s preparation took place in another suite at Onyria, immersed in a tranquility that was almost palpable. With our documentary approach, we preserved the groom’s calm, expectation, and serenity before walking to the altar, without ever interfering with the organic unfolding of the morning.
Tears in the Lake House Garden
The symbolic ceremony was set against the impeccable lawn of the Lake House garden. Presided over by a long-time friend of Alex, the celebration was of an overwhelming emotional weight. The moment Alex saw Lenna walking toward him and the exchange of vows brought genuine tears that we made sure to keep forever in their visual legacy.
Golden Light on the Golf Course
We already knew the wonderful chemistry of this couple since their pre-wedding session at the imposing National Palace of Queluz (which we will share soon in another gallery). Therefore, the session for two on the wedding day was incredibly brief, relaxed, and fluid. We took advantage of the open space of the hotel’s golf course to envelope them in the magical late afternoon light, capturing their essence without taking them away from their guests.
Speeches and Emotions at the Table
Dinner unfolded in a sophisticated yet deeply welcoming atmosphere. Speeches from close friends and family once again raised the emotions in the room. It is in these moments that our documentary art gains more strength, building a visual memory made of real hugs, shared stories, and, of course, an unforgettable dance floor.
